This beautiful gourd is from my metallic series.  I used pyrography and carving to create the many textures on the surface of this 8" diameter gourd.  It has a irregular opening and stands 5 3/4" tall at its highest point.  The surface is colored using a combination of gourd dyes, which allow the natural mottling to show through, as well as opaque and metallic dyes. On each side of the gourd I feature a "pod" of circles, one in ascending size and the other in descending size.
