This beautiful art piece was created from a slice of redwood which had been burned by wildfire.  The irregular shape of the remaining tree trunk was left as it was, while the bowl was turned to highlight the grain. Inlays in natural crevices and in "targeted" depressions were highlighted with copper filings.  At its widest point, the piece measures just under 20" and is 2 1/2" thick.
