A translucent gourd dye was applied to highlight the natural mottling of this gourd.  Holes were pierced in the gourd to form triangular patterns which were then stitched with black waxed linen to which beads were attached.  The top of the rim was braided with black leather.  The piece is 7 1/2" in diameter and is 5 1/2" tall.
