Four different butterfly species are featured on this gourd. All 4 are native to New Mexico, but are also found in many other locations.  The featured butterflies are the Monarch, Pipevine Swallowtail, Two-Tailed Swallowtail and the Red Admiral.   They are detailed using pyrography and then painted with acrylic inks.  The gourd itself is uncut so the seeds remain in the gourd.  The gourd is 8" in diameter and 6 1/4" high.
